Misogi Harai is a powerful purification practice utilising the voice and breath. Practitioners begin their training with a gruelling intensive four-day practice initiation at Ichikukai Dojo in Tokyo Japan. It is a strong and deep practice and highly demanding, specifically designed to push individuals to their perceived limits in order to break through and go beyond.
Currently at Athens Aikido we practice a purification breath known as Ibuki, which is a strong dynamic breath developed by rhythmically pumping the diaphragm for extended periods of time. This practice cleanses the blood and strengthens the internal organs.
