Zazen posture can vary depending on the flexibility of the practitioner.Full lotus is the recommended position, but is not always possible.Cross-legged (Burmese) or even Seiza are also acceptable. Knees should touch the floor, forming thus along with the sitting bones a stable triangular base.The spine should be upright, shoulders relaxed and the head resting on the top of the spine with the chin slightly tucked-in. Zazen practice consists of trying to keep as still as possible, both mentally and physically.
