yoga_evgAt AthensAikido Hatha Yoga can work complementary for the aikido trainee offering flexibility and strength both at technique and ukemi, or it can work independently.

Hatha (from the Sanskrit words Ha and Tha) means Sun and Moon, reflecting opposing powers, like masculine and feminine, hot and cold, yin and yang etc. Yoga means union or harmony. So, the asana practice is a reunion between the usually separated body and mind.

Apart from vibrant health, flexibility and stamina, yoga shows us the way to cultivate happiness, contentment, freedom and patience in our everyday life.

The practice will incorporate a variety of traditional hatha yoga poses (asanas) together with different breathing techniques (pranayama), allowing the body to reconnect to the breath and giving the mind the opportunity to find peace, balance and strength.

Teacher: Eugenia Papadimitriou
Originally from Athens, Eugenia started practicing hatha yoga in Paris in 2009. In 2018 she attended the Yoga Teachers Training Course at the Sivananda Ashram, New York. In addition to teaching yoga, Eugenia is also a thai massage practitioner.
