Athens Aikido Instructors

Jenny Flower is chief instructor of Athens Aikido. She began her training in Norwich, England in 1989 before moving to San Diego two years later to train under T. K. Chiba Shihan for three years in the Kenshusei program living for one year as Uchideshi at San Diego Aikikai. During this time she was also fortunate to train extensively under M. Murashige Shihan who she considers to be an important teacher for her. In 1997 she moved to Greece and founded and ran Athens Aikikai for nearly ten years before establishing Athens Aikido in 2008. She currently holds the rank of 6th degree black belt and is a Birankai International certified instructor (Shidoin). She is Chairman of the Hellenic Birankai Teaching Committee.

Nick Costalas has been practicing Aikido  since 2004 and currently holds the rank of 2nd degree black belt. He is a Birankai International Certified assistant instructor (Fukushidoin).He is a member of the Hellenic Birankai Support Committee.

Nikos Nikopoulos started his practice in aikido in August 2013 in Athens aikido under the guidance of Jenny Flower Sensei (6th dan Shidoin). In early 2017, for six months, he trained as an uchideshi, a living-in student at the “Bucks County Aikido” in Pennsylvania, USA, taught by George Lyons Sensei (6th dan Shihan). Since summer 2018 after intensive training and exams at Garrison Institute in New York holds the rank of first black belt (shodan). His love of art led him to travel and participate in seminars in Greece and abroad such as (France, Switzerland, America, and Japan). Since 2016 he has been involved as an assistant in the Athens Aikido children’s programs, while in September 2019 he is preparing to become a teacher between the ages of 5-8.
